South San Francisco Scavenger Company provides weekly garbage and recycling pickup for each city that we service and a yardwaste collection program that varies by city.
General Service Information
Because of high health and safety standards, the Cities serviced by South San Francisco Scavenger Company require residents to have once weekly garbage collection. Participation in our recycling program is highly recommended. All garbage, recycling and yardwaste containers must be kept out of view except as necessary to accommodate collection.
Please have all collection containers within 8 feet of the curb by 5:00am on your regular scheduled pickup day. Side or Backyard service is available for those with a physical handicap. Call our offices at 650-589-4020 for information on how to apply for this service.
No hazardous materials of any kind are accepted in your collection containers.
Starting Service
Please call 650-589-4020 to start collection service. The residents of South San Francisco and Brisbane may purchase and use their own collection container or the South San Francisco Scavenger Company has available for purchase or rent, 20, 32, or 64 gallon carts for garbage collection and 96 gallon carts for collection of yardwaste. One set of Recycling Bins is provided free of charge.

On Call Clean-Up (By Appointment Only)
Residents of single-family dwellings may have two free clean-ups a year for extra trash only. On Call CLEAN-up is limited to ONE large item suchas a sofa or washing machine or mattress and ONE cubic yard of trash (equivalent to 6-30 gallon containers or bags). Call 650.589.4020 to schedule your regular garabe collection day.
Please donate your reusable items, and recycle yard waste on your yard waste collection day.
Special Pickups / Extra Pickups
Extra garbage or bulky items can be taken for a reasonable fee. Please call 650-589-4020 at least 1 day in advance to arrange for pickup of extra garbage or bulky items such as couches, mattresses, water heaters, etc. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and similar items require special handling. Please call our offices for more information on these items.
